3.      The Century Egg

The Century Egg is a Chinese delicacy where you take either a chicken or duck egg and leave it in wait for weeks to months. It is left in a mixture made from clay, salt, ash, quicklime and rice hull.

It has many alternative names, one of them being the Pine-Patterned Egg due to the pine needle type design that forms on the outer layer. The egg looks black with the center a shade of brown and grey.
